You should have studied the history of the Cold War and know a bit about the Cold War politics. You might also want to consider whether you would consider yourself a liberal or a conservative in today's world.Would you prefer to write an essay on the real Cold War rather than the Cold War propaganda you learned in school? Do you have a thesis to explain and if so, is it an academic one? Will the Cold War topic appeal to students and professors, or will it raise eyebrows?You might write an essay which sounds very serious, which sounds like it was written by someone who is willing to fight, but doesn't sound like a warmonger, and still sounds interesting.
